Summer always goes too fast. Every year we swear we’ll slow it down, and every year it disappears in a blur of long days, quick dinners, and full calendars.
For Anne, summer means walking the dogs on the beach and hoping for one of those rare hot, sticky days in San Diego. The kind that calls for a cold drink and a good soft-shell crab sandwich. It means chasing the sunset with her camera and holding onto every bit of golden light. For Kirsten, it’s about ice cream trucks, fireflies, and boardwalk evenings—the kind of summer magic that doesn’t need much else.
And then, just like that, the season starts to shift.
Labor Day rolls around. The sales start. The pool snack bars try to clear out the freezer. There’s one last neighborhood cookout and one last watermelon salad—because let’s be honest, we’re not making that again until June.
But with the end of summer comes the start of something else.
Fall is Kirsten’s favorite season—football, changing leaves, wildlife moving through the yard. And Thanksgiving, always the best holiday. At Thomas Lee Living, we feel that shift too. We start updating the homepage, switching collections, and pulling out the fall pieces we’ve been holding onto. The ones that feel just right for the season ahead.
It’s always bittersweet to see summer go, but we’re ready for what’s next.
See you next year, summer.
Hello fall—let’s do this.
Cheers,
Anne Thomas and Kirsten Lee
